The Internet will someday be the primary medium for buying products and services. Internet sales are soaring into the billions. The Internet can infinitely increase a business's target sales market in a matter of seconds.
 E-Commerce is the catch phrase being used to denote the ability to make and take secure online transactions over the internet. Websites that are equipped with e-commerce capabilities are virtual online stores. Internet viewers can go through an e-commerce website, browse the various products and services offered, and then pick and choose the items they desire, placing these items into their own personal "shopping cart." When they have finished shopping, they can purchase these items through the secure, real-time processing of their credit card or personal check information.
E-Commerce solutions include everything from a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) needed to transmit secure information to a shopping cart solution to credit card processing and merchant accounts. Magicz provides this full 'ecommerce solution' to its clients on UNIX servers, for no extra charge.
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
Secure Sockets Layer is a protocol which encrypts all data communicated between client/server to ensure there can be no intercepts of the data by third parties and ensures that communication is between the intended parties only. Magicz uses anonymous Secure IDs for clients use, so that clients may take advantage of SSL on their website without being associated with Magicz.
Clients may also use SSL through their own domain, however a small fee applies for this service to be enabled.
Shopping Cart
A shopping cart allows your website to track visitors as they pass from page to page, keeping track of items clicked on and information sent by the user. When the user exits, totals can be calculated and orders/data can be sent. This can be used in a "shopping mall" or online catalog situation, but can also be adapted for a variety of dynamic applications where a user ID or session needs to be tracked.
